World Animal Warriors
Asian Elephant Sanctuary Group Trip
World Animal Warriors recently completed its first Group Animal Mission ‘Operation Cambodian Elephant Sanctuary” after heading deep into the Cambodian forest to work alongside the rescued captive Elephants.
The World Animal Warriors group spent a week at the Elephant Valley Project studying, learning and observing the Elephants in their natural habitats and learning about the fantastic rescue and conservation work Elephant Valley Project are doing across Cambodia & Thailand.
There are currently over 3,000 Elephants being held captive across Asia for the tourism industry, who have been stolen from the wild, held in appalling conditions and abused every single day of their lives just so tourists can take selfies, take rides, feed and bath them for entertainment.
Elephant Valley Project stepped in and decided to make a difference to the Elephants in need. They rescue Elephants across Cambodia & Thailand, rehabilitate them, give them ongoing medical care and let them live out the rest of their years in their protected forest areas whilst helping them regain their dignity and let Elephants, be Elephants. They also give back to the local communities which allows everyone involved to benefit.
There are many ways you can help stop this awful tourism industry such as vowing to never ride, bath, feed or take photos with Elephants whilst travelling, volunteering your time in the sanctuary and becoming an advocate for the Elephants by sharing this video. With education and awareness we can make people aware, help them make ethical choices and not engage with Elephants (or any other wild animal) whilst travelling through Asia. Together, we need to be a voice for the Elephants.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this animal mission a success and a special thanks to Gemma, Connaugh, Chris, Tara, Shilpi, Kulli, Roxie, Tom, Brett and Moon Bear – you are all superstars!
